Process

Process: Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these steps to successfully complete your task:

  1. Team Formation & Role Assignment (Day 1): Form teams of 3-4 students. Discuss the project goals and assign the roles (Researcher, Designer, Writer). Set up a shared digital workspace (e.g., Google Drive folder, Trello board).
  2. Initial Research & Brainstorming (Days 1-2):
    • All members: Individually explore the resources provided in the 'Resources' tab. Take initial notes on key risks, arguments, and potential regulations.
    • Team Meeting: Share initial findings. Brainstorm the main points your briefing will cover. Discuss the potential format for your final product (presentation, video, webpage).
  3. In-Depth Research & Analysis (Days 3-4):
    • Lead Researcher: Dig deeper into the resources, find 1-2 additional credible sources (if needed), and synthesize key information on risks, pros/cons of regulation, and regulatory models. Share findings systematically with the team (e.g., annotated bibliography, summary document).
    • Content Strategist/Writer: Begin outlining the structure and narrative flow of the briefing based on initial research and team discussion. Start drafting key sections.
    • Digital Designer: Research potential templates or design ideas for the chosen format. Consider tools like Canva, Google Slides, Adobe Express (for presentations/webpages), or simple video editors. Experiment with visual styles.
  4. Content Development & Drafting (Days 5-6):
    • Content Strategist/Writer: Draft the main content of the briefing, incorporating research findings and ensuring clear, C1-level English. Collaborate closely with the Researcher for accuracy.
    • Lead Researcher: Verify information, provide specific examples or data points, and compile the final list of references in APA format.
    • Digital Designer: Start building the digital product, creating a structure and incorporating initial design elements. Plan where text, images, and other media will go.
    • Optional AI Tool Use: Consider using a generative AI tool (like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude) ethically. For example:
      • Brainstorming counter-arguments.
      • Summarizing a complex article (always verify the summary against the original).
      • Getting feedback on clarity or grammar for a drafted section (treat it as a suggestion, not a final answer).
      • *Crucially: Do NOT use AI to write entire sections. Cite any significant assistance.*
  5. Integration & Refinement (Days 7-8):
    • All members: Integrate the drafted content into the digital format designed. Review the entire briefing for coherence, accuracy, clarity, and flow.
    • Digital Designer: Finalize the visual design, ensuring consistency, readability, and professional appearance. Add images, icons, or multimedia elements as planned.
    • Content Strategist/Writer: Perform final proofreading and editing for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and C1-level language appropriateness. Check APA citations.
  6. Final Review & Submission (Day 9):
    • Team Meeting: Conduct a final review of the completed digital briefing. Ensure all requirements are met and everyone approves the final version.
    • Submission: Submit the final digital product according to your instructor's guidelines.
  7. Presentation/Sharing (Optional - Day 10): Be prepared to briefly present or share your team's policy briefing with the class.
